Benjamin W. Hulburt has been Chief Executive Officer of Rex Energy since March 2007, and Chief Executive Officer of Rex Operating since 2004. Mr. Hulburt has served as Chief Financial Officer of Douglas Oil & Gas from 2001 to 2004. Mr. Hulburt co-founded the first Rex Energy partnership in 2001, and has co-founded and served as an officer of all the Rex Energy-affiliated companies since that time. Mr. Hulburt was on active duty as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army for four years, and left the service holding the rank of captain. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Pennsylvania State University.
Thomas C. Stabley
Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Thomas C. Stabley was named Chief Financial Officer of Rex Energy in March 2007. Mr. Stabley has over 10 years of experience in oil and gas accounting and finance, and has managed the accounting of all of the Rex Energy founding partnerships since their inception in 1996. Prior to joining Rex Energy, Mr. Stabley served President of Accounting for Shaner Hotels. He received his bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Pittsburgh.
Christopher K. Hulburt
Executive Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel
Christopher K. Hulburt was named Executive Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel of Rex Energy in March 2007. Mr. Hulburt served as Vice President and General Counsel for each of the founding partnerships of Rex Energy Corporation from April 2005. Earlier, he was a senior associate with the law firm of Hodgson Russ LLP in its corporate and securities practice group. Prior to joining Hodgson Russ, he served as an officer in the U.S. Army's Judge Advocate General's Corps; he was a military prosecutor and in his last two years of service, he also held the position of special assistant United States attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice. Mr. Hulburt earned his bachelor's degree in history/education from Niagara University and his law degree from Western New England College School of Law.
Bryan J. Clayton
Senior Vice President, Illinois Basin District Manager
Bryan J. Clayton joined Rex Energy in 2007 as the Illinois Basin Regional Reservoir Engineering Manager with the primary responsibility for managing the reservoir engineering aspects of the Rex Energy's Alkali Surfactant Polymer (ASP) enhanced oil recovery project. He has 25 years of experience in oil and gas engineering, operations and management. Mr. Clayton gained substantial industry experience working for several oil and gas companies in the mid-continent region, including Vintage Petroleum and Schlumberger, with responsibilities in reservoir engineering, acquisitions and technical management. Mr. Clayton received his B.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Tulsa..
Tim Beattie was named Senior Vice President, Appalachian Regional Manager in August 2008. He has over 24 years experience in reservoir engineering and operations management with extensive knowledge of Reservoir Modeling and Project Management. Mr. Beattie comes to Rex Energy from Woodside Energy (USA), Inc. in Covington, Louisiana, where he served as Engineering & Operations Manager. Prior to Woodside Energy (USA) Inc., Beattie worked for Dominion Exploration & Production as a Senior Staff Reservoir Engineer and worked for Shell International Exploration & Production, Inc. for over 21 years in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he held various positions in Reservoir Engineering. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University, and a Bachelor of Science Degree (concentration in Math and Sciences) from the Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania.
David E. Pratt
Vice President and Exploration Manager
David Pratt was named Vice President, Exploration Manager in March 2008. He has over 30 years experience as a senior geologist working on projects located throughout the United States. Mr. Pratt comes to Rex Energy from Cabot Oil and Gas working in the Appalachian Basin. Specific work included the Oriskany, Knox, Onondaga and Trenton-Black River plays, as well as the Devonian Shale and Devonian/Carboniferous sandstone in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. He also gained substantial working knowledge in the Appalachian Front of Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Tennessee. Prior to his Cabot Oil and Gas, Pratt worked for Texaco in West Texas; Sohio Petroleum in Colorado, Nevada and Utah; Ensource and Enstar in the western U.S.; and Ultramar in Texas and the Rocky Mountain areas. Mr. Pratt obtained his B.S. degree in Geology from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany, NY and earned an M.A degree in Geology from Rice University in Houston.
James F. Watson
Vice President of Drilling - Appalachian Region
James Watson was named Vice President of Drilling- Appalachian Region in May 2008. He has over 18 years of experience in the drilling of oil and natural gas wells in the Appalachian Basin Region. Mr. Watson joins Rex Energy following his departure from Range Resources Corporation, where he served as the Manager of Drilling for Appalachia Shale. Since 2005, Mr. Watson has supervised the drilling of all vertical and horizontal Marcellus Shale wells for Range Resources. Prior to that, Watson served as District Engineer and Manager of Drilling & Completion for Great Lakes Energy Partners, a subsidiary of Range Resources. Mr. Watson also gained valuable oil and natural gas drilling experience while employed with Superior Well Services, the R.J. Lee Group, Appalachian Well Services and the Western Company of North America. Mr. Watson obtained his B.A. degree in Geology from Slippery Rock University and also served as a non-commissioned officer in the United States Air Force.
Bernard ("Bernie") J. Ulincy
Vice President, Land Manager
Bernard ("Bernie") J. Ulincy was named Vice President, Land Manager in November 2008. Mr. Ulincy comes to Rex Energy from El Paso E & P Co. in Houston where he was the Senior Staff Landman. Prior to his El Paso assignment, Bernie worked at Southwestern Energy Company, where he served as Staff Landman and oversaw their Fayetteville shale prospects in Arkansas since 2006. Previous to that position, he worked for Fortuna Energy Inc., a subsidiary of Talisman Energy Inc., as Supervisor of Land Acquisition, managing the lease acquisition budget for their Trenton/Black River horizontal drilling efforts in the Appalachian Basin. Mr. Ulincy holds a bachelor's degree in Geography from East Stroudsburg State College and completed post-graduate work in Geography and Geology at Indiana State University.
